Default Divine Favor is fun

I've been thinking of a build for a monk for a little bit now that seems interesting. Mo/Me.. any input would be great.


Signet of Devotion
Res
Archane Echo
Aura of Faith
Dwayna's Kiss
Vigorous Spirit
Mantra of Inscriptions
Divine Boon


Something like this? Maybe energy would be a problem, and maybe not. I'd aura/vigorous everyone, and dwayna's kiss to heal when the signet wouldn't be enough. Maybe protection prayers would be a better match for this idea?

Did you mean Blessed Aura instead of Aura of Faith?

Heh, that's better.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say yes energy would be a problem. Arcane Echo + Aura of Faith while maintaining Divine Boon with no energy management skills won't last too long. You said you'd be placing Aura of Faith on everyone. Well, it may last for 60 seconds (72 with a 20% enchanting), but you'd be using a lot of energy constantly using Arcane Echo and Aura of Faith to maintain all of those enchantments. It feels impractical.

Any build I've used with Mantra of Inscriptions and signets usually involved more than one signet unless it was Blessed Signet. The recharge on Signet of Devotion isn't that long (5 seconds is it) and I hardly think that the mantra warrants a space to speed up a skill's recharge slightly. At most, you're looking at reducing the recharge to roughly 2.5 seconds, but it still has a 2 second activation time. Which leads me to question how many points you're going to invest in the Inspiration line considering you're using one skill from it. Inspired Hex might not be a bad choice to gain some energy every 20 seconds or so. If you're not investing a lot of points into Inspiration, then your mantra isn't as effective, the duration is lacking so you'd have to reactivate this 10 energy skill often.

Those are some good points.. because of the rounding mechanisms in the game, I usually stop at 9 inspiration for the mantra, to get an even 40%. It's not possible with a mesmer secondary to get 50. And.. somehow I doubt that using Inspired Hex will give me enough energy to keep up all that stuff. Hm. Guess I could put in Blessed Signet and Essence Bond on everyone ftw.

I'm no good at the math at this game, but I *think* it's possible to use Blessed Signet with Mantra of Inscriptions to actually gain energy. Reduce the recharge to 6 seconds (typically I would go with the 40ish% as well) as opposed to 10.

I think having Aura of Faith and Divine Boon could be overkill on the healing. You could use Mantra of Recall (if you don't mind the 20 second wait) as some form of energy management since you are putting points into the Inspiration. Although that kinda kills the whole Divine Favor is fun part...

Hehe yeah. I guess it was my attempt at a signet based healer, which has always seemed nice to me, but I've seen absolutely 0 builds of that sort floating around. I've also heard this stuff about using a signet 4 times in a row.. if that's possible, wouldn't everyone do that with Signet of Judgement?

Divine boon and aura of the faith is great. If there is no enchantment removal, then aura of the faith acts as energy management itself! Think about it, all your heals are 50% more effective and it also allows the player to improve whatever self healing he has too!

Aura of the faith + boon, is one of the best anti-spike healing in the game.

I believe that the build requires the use of Keystone Signet so that sucks away the elite slot.

I'm not sure how Aura of Faith + Boon is one of the best anti-spikes in the game. That would rely on precognition. Boon + Reversal of Fortune (sometimes RoF on it's own), or simply Infuse Health, and to some extent Protective Spirit is the best you'll get for anti-spike.
